St. Jude Memphis Marathon

| September 7th, 2010 | No Comments »

Two of our Quincy to Peoria runners, Rebecca Stump and Emily Bastert, are running the St. Jude Memphis Marathon’s half-marathon to “keep the fire alive for the Quincy run!” They’re inviting all Quincy runners to join them by signing up for the run.

Info on the run:

“Get ready for a fun-filled race weekend taking place in the birthplace of rock ‘n roll and the home of the blues. Experience Memphis’ rich and unique musical heritage, great food and tons of Southern hospitality while participating in a race benefiting the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

All races have sold out in advance the past two years, so we strongly recommend that you expedite your registration and travel plans.”

Mandatory Safety Meeting

| July 22nd, 2010 | No Comments »

We have a MANDATORY SAFETY MEETING this upcoming Wednesday, July 28th at 6:30 pm.  The meeting will be located at the Quincy Medical Group Sports Medicine building that has been the site of our regular runner meetings.

At this meeting  you will be receiving your runner bags with the St. Jude t-shirts, safety vests, stickers, motor home assignments, and a chance to review the run route and put your name where you would like to run.

You will also be learning about how much safety is emphasized on our run.  It is our goal not only to raise as much money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, but to also make sure everyone has a fun time and a SAFE journey along the way.

Lastly, attached is our 2010 runner pledge form that Bridget would like you to have filled out and ready to turn in at the Safety meeting.  You will need to fill in your donation amount that you have received offline, online, and the total amount.

Remember, you have until October 1st to raise your $500, so please keep that in mind as you fill out your pledge sheet.

Thanks!
