QU President Robert Gervasi to be introduced as honorary chairman of 2010 St. Jude Quincy to Peoria Run
Please join us for a press conference to announce plans for the sixth annual St. Jude Quincy to Peoria Run and to introduce Dr. Robert Gervasi, Quincy University president, as the fundraising event’s honorary chairman.
WHEN: 9 a.m., Thursday, March 25
WHERE: Quincy University Hall of Fame Room, 20th and Oak
BACKGROUND: This year marks the sixth year that devoted and energized runners representing the Quincy region will show their support for the patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The runners will begin their journey on Friday, Aug. 6, and run relay-style until they reach Peoria on Saturday, Aug. 7. Upon arrival, the Quincy runners will join St. Jude runners from Memphis, Tenn., and other running groups to help kick off the 2010 St. Jude Telethon. All money raised by a St. Jude runner goes toward research and treatment of children being cared for at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria.
